چکیده

This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. Abstract This document describes an extension to Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) in order to define independent IP topologies called Multi-Topologies (MTs). The Multi-Topologies extension can be used for computing different paths for unicast traffic, multicast traffic, different classes of service based on flexible criteria, or an in-band network management topology. An optional extension to exclude selected links from the default topology is also described.

RFC 4811 OSPF Out - of - Band LSDB

OSPF is a link-state intra-domain routing protocol used in IP networks. Link State Database (LSDB) synchronization in OSPF is achieved via two methods -initial LSDB synchronization when an OSPF router has just been connected to the network and asynchronous flooding that ensures continuous LSDB synchronization in the presence of topology changes after the initial procedure was completed. It may ...

Class-Based OSPF Traffic Engineering Inspired on Evolutionary Computation

This paper proposes a novel traffic engineering framework able to automatically provide near-optimal OSPF routing configurations for QoS constrained scenarios. Within this purpose, this work defines a mathematical model able to measure the QoS compliance in a class-based networking domain. Based on such model, the NP-hard optimization problem of OSPF weight setting is faced resorting to Evoluti...

OSPF extension for the support of multi-area networks with arbitrary topologies

OSPF currently supports multi-area networking with two severe limitations, due to the distance vector approach taken in the inter-area routing protocol: (i) the multi-area topology is restricted to a two-level hierarchy, and (ii) globally optimal routing may not be achieved. In this letter, we propose an OSPF extension that overcomes these limitations by adopting a link state inter-area routing...

Distributed Topology Control for Efficient OSPF Routing in Multi-hop Wireless Networks

This paper studies distributed topology control algorithms to support the efficient Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) link state routing in multi-hop wireless networks. It is highly desirable to retain the basic OSPF model of reliable flooding, especially when large quantities of external, rarelychanging routing data must be carried across the radio network. However, it is not easy to implement r...

Survivable IP network design with OSPF routing

Internet protocol (IP) traffic follows rules established by routing protocols. Shortest path based protocols, such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), direct traffic based on arc weights assigned by the network operator. Each router computes shortest paths and creates destination tables used for routing flow on the shortest paths. If a router has multiple outgoing links on shortest paths to a g...
